| Trenton/Princeton |
During the fall of 1776, the Continental Army is driven from New York and New Jersey in a series of disastrous defeats. With the enlistment periods of most of his men soon ending, George Washington decides he must win a victory before the year ends to keep hope alive. The British have ended campaigning for the season and have built a series of garrisons across New Jersey. Washington decides to strike one of those garrisons on the day after Christmas. With a victory at Trenton, he may be able to hold his army together.
