Following the disaster at Saratoga and the withdrawal from Philadelphia, the British decide to focus their efforts on the southern colonies. Beginning with an invasion of Georgia, the capture Savannah. From Savannah, they hope to methodically capture the rest of the southern colonies. At first the effort is led by Augustine Prevost, who does a remarkable job with very limited resources. In 1779, General Henry Clinton and Charles Cornwallis take command of British forces. The Patriots send their best generals against Cornwallis, but each is defeated until the arrival of Nathaniel Greene and Daniel Morgan.
