The Battle for New York
The British invade New York with a massive force of 24,000 soldiers and 330 ships manned by 10,000 sailors. General George Washington's new army is decisively out-maneuvered and suffers a humiliating defeat. As a result, New York City will remain under British control until the end of the war in 1783.
