Following their stunning victory at Concord, 15,000 Patriots besiege Boston. British commanders realize that the Patriots can bombard their fleet from two strategic positions: Charlestown Peninsula and Dorchester Heights. The British plan to seize those positions, but the Patriots hear of the British plans. On the night of June 16, 1775, two thousand Patriots fortify Breed's Hill challenging the British to fight. The British decide to crush to Patriot force.
